Misconceptions About Addiction

There are numerous misconceptions about addiction, the most common of which is that individuals who have never had a problem with substances assume that the addicted individual would be deterred from using again because detox is such an unpleasant experience. This is a false assumption because substance addiction is an allergy to the body as well as an obsession of the mind. It is the failure of other alcohol rehabilitation program to recognize the psychology behind the addiction, which explains why there is such a high failure rate with their clients.

Finding the Right alcohol rehabilitation program

Finding the right alcohol rehabilitation program with successful programs can be a challenging task. You typically have two options for locating a quality treatment and recovery program, both of which oftentimes proves to be more confusing and frustrating than anything else. You can spend hours calling numbers in your local phone book or you can search through hundreds of treatment and recovery programs listed online. In either case, you will most likely spend countless hours getting frustrate over and over again. In most instances, the individual just gives up and does nothing about their addiction.

Recovery Tools

Recovery ToolsWe provide our clients with specific “recovery tools” here at our alcohol rehabilitation program which the more traditional facilities do not. We teach our clients three key aspects of the treatment and recovery process which includes the accountability, responsibility, and time factors. Take into consideration the following:
  • The Accountability Factor – our alcohol rehabilitation program teaches our clients that they need to hold themselves accountable for their addictive behavior and the consequences that have resulted from their actions.
  • The Responsibility Factor – our clients learn to accept the responsibility of their addictive behavior as well as the damage that has resulted during the addiction process and how they have been affected by it emotionally, mentally, and physically.
  • The Time Factor – when you consider the fact that most addictions don’t result overnight, it’s important for the client to realize that the treatment and recovery process won’t occur overnight either. Their addiction may have taken many years to develop to the stage it was in when they initially entered our alcohol rehabilitation program.

apartment like atmosphere

Our alcohol rehabilitation program was designed and constructed to be more like a residential setting with an apartment like atmosphere for the client to live in while undergoing treatment and recovery. This affords our clients certain benefits that they cannot enjoy in the more traditional facilities such as:
  • relaxing in the comfort of their own apartment while they study their courses (which come with our treatment and recovery programs)
  • interacting with other residents during meal time or “downtime”
  • being in a clean and sober environment rather than a destructive one

much more innovative and modern

The client takes up residency in our alcohol rehabilitation program while they are undergoing the treatment and recovery process. Many treatment and recovery facilities offer this type of treatment and recovery, whether they are one of the traditional facilities or one such as ours. We offer alternative treatment and recovery therapies that are much more innovative and modern than what the traditional facilities do. The key difference is that we also offer our clients a variety of recovery tools so that they remain clean and sober for life once they return to their communities.

Alcohol addiction continues to be one of the most destructive forces

Alcohol addiction continues to be one of the most destructive forces in our society today. It destroys lives and wreaks havoc on the families of the addicted individual as well. Damage from alcohol addiction occurs on both the emotional and mental levels as well as the physical. The traditional alcohol rehabilitation program today fail to address the damage issue and the psychology behind the addiction because they tend to rely on the more conventional treatment and recovery therapies which are ineffective, and in many cases, out of date.
