Curing Alcoholism

Alcoholism facts and statistics

No one who first experimented with drinking alcohol had the intention of abusing it, getting addicted to it, or becoming dependent upon it. The harsh reality is that no matter whether you like beer, liquor, or wine, problems with alcohol eventually takes its toll on you, your family members, your friends, and your loved ones. It is like a ripple effect. The NIAAA (National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism lists the following facts and statistics about alcohol so that you understand the far-reaching effects of alcoholism:

  • 1 out of every 4 children aged 18 or younger are exposed alcohol abuse, addiction, or dependency in somewhere in their family
  • approximately 7,000 American children under 16 years of old take their first drink every day
  • binge drinking or heavy drinking are the most prevalent among the 18 to 25-year old age group
  • children of alcoholics are three to four times more likely to start drinking than children with parents that don’t drink
  • more than 50% of adults in this country have had a family member that currently is or was an alcoholic
  • nearly 18 million Americans are classified as alcoholics
  • there are over 100,000 deaths reported annually that are associated with alcoholism

As a result of this, numerous health organizations and the medical community are conducting research that could lead to a better understanding of and curing alcoholism. As it stands, alcoholism is seen as a serious public health threat.

Treatment and recovery programs for alcoholism

There are traditional addiction treatment and recovery centers and there are the more alternative, residential facilities that have turned part of their focus to curing alcoholism. Although their goals and intentions are the same, that is where any similarities between the two types of facilities end. As an example, the traditional facilities still rely on the more conventional treatment methods and recovery therapies whereas the alternative centers use the more innovative types with higher recovery success rates.

Our addiction treatment and recovery center features some of the most effective alcohol rehab programs in the US with the highest recovery success rates possible. We offer both in-patient and out-patient programs that are geared to curing alcoholism and offering the individual a hope for a brighter future. Now you can give yourself or a loved one the best chance possible at stopping your addiction while becoming emotionally and mentally stable like you were before alcoholism took control of your life.
