Alcoholism Treatment
Different types of alcoholism treatment
Alcohol addiction treatment and recovery facilities are divided in traditional and alternative facilities. It is easy to distinguish one from the other in that the traditional facility typically looks like a clinic, hospital, or motel while the alternative facility is more residential like in appearance. They both offer similar treatment programs and services as well as having the same goals. However, that is where all similarities between the two types of rehab facilities end as their major differences between them.
The traditional facility tends to be very intimidating because of how cold and uninviting they look to the individual whereas the alternative facility is a homelike environment which is very comforting and warm in appearance. The traditional facilities tend to rely on the older, more conventional therapies which are now considered to be ineffective and out of date. On the other hand, the alternative facility tends to employ the more modern and innovative therapies and recovery techniques.
Effectiveness
Another key factor involved with treatment is the effectiveness factor and how high the percentage of recovery success is. Traditional programs tend to have low success rates and higher rates of failure whereas the alternative facilities are characteristically just the opposite. Failure rates of the traditional facilities has been documented as high as 80% which means that 4 out of every 5 individuals that complete the conventional alcoholism treatment program eventually relapse back into alcoholism after returning to society.
Regardless of the program that you enter, your ultimate goal is to overcome your addiction to alcohol so that you can return home and live clean and sober for the rest of your life. What exactly is involved in an effective alcohol addiction rehab program – and what are the main elements that define its effectiveness?
Evaluate Effectiveness
There are typically three elements that are used to measure the effectiveness of the program – accessibility, to the program, a higher recovery success rate, and a lower percentage of relapse.
The alcoholism treatment program offered here at the Freedom Center is one that can be customized to target the personal needs of each individual client so that they have a better chance of overcoming their addiction and remaining clean and sober for life. We know that no two individuals are alike and neither is the way that they respond to the rehab program. Therefore, we individualize them as much as possible.
