The current drug threat in New York state

According to the DEA, the state of New York has always been a favorite target of drug distributors and trafficking organizations for decades. A major interstate highway corridor, airports, railway systems, and seaports are all responsible for this. Another factor is the diverse array of cultures that populate the greater New York City area as well as the rest of the state. This population has created a huge demand for illegal substances that numerous drug traffickers are more than willing to accommodate.

Additionally, statistics recently released by the DEA in 2008 have revealed that the following substances are the primary drug threats in New York today:

cocaine in both crack and powder form

heroin

marijuana

methamphetamines

MDMA’s (club drugs)

prescription medications

Additionally, New York serves as a crossroads for drug traffickers who distribute these substances to Canada and Europe.

With the growth in substance distribution and trafficking in New York, noticeable increases involving abuse and addiction cases have arisen as well. Additionally, where substance abuse and addiction cases increase, so does the need for New York addiction treatment and recovery programs. As a result of this, there are now more of these programs available than ever before.

The failure of addiction treatment programs in New York

Recent research where substance abuse and addiction are concerned has revealed that the majority of the New York addiction treatment and recovery programs are not succeeding. In fact, the failure rate falls in line with the national average of 80%. So what is the reason that these programs aren’t working? There is no primary reason for this other than the fact that the majority of these addiction treatment and recovery programs are still employing the conventional modalities which are now out-of-date.

The Narconon Freedom Center has designed and developed alternative addiction treatment and recovery programs as well as innovative therapies in order to offset the failures of the traditional rehab centers. The following is a list of factors to explain why our programs are successful 70% (or more) of the time compared to the numerous New York addiction treatment and recovery programs:

we provide our clients with a home environment when they enroll in our residency programs which is less intimidating yet more comfortable and relaxing

we provide clients with comprehensive educational tools that teach the client how to live substance-free for life once they return to society

we offer a number of classes/courses to assist in the educational process

We welcome clients who have had an unsuccessful experience with any New York addiction treatment and recovery program and invite you to contact us at the toll-free phone number above to obtain more information about the programs we offer here at the Narconon Freedom Center.

About methamphetamine addiction

Methamphetamine addiction wreaks havoc on the addicted individual as well as the family members and friends around them. It tears families apart and in some cases, eventually kills the addicted individual. Methamphetamine operates by stimulating the central nervous system and creates a euphoric feeling that can last from 4 to 24 ours in duration. But this euphoria is the only benefit when you consider the negative consequences that result.

Methamphetamine addiction creates adverse emotional, mental, and physical consequences which can affect the individual on both the long and short term. There are literally dozens of negative side effects and damaging consequences that result from ongoing addiction. As a result, meth addiction treatment programs can be found at most addiction treatment and recovery facilities. Unfortunately, the traditional facilities are failing roughly 80% of the time as 4 out of every 5 clients typically relapse when they return to society.

How our programs are different

The Narconon Freedom Center offers alternative meth addiction treatment programs and more innovative therapies in order to help our clients heal from their addictions and return to their communities where they remain substance-free for life. We realized years ago that there were several key factors responsible for the failure of the more traditional facilities due to the following:

their appearance is still clinical or hospital like which is not very comforting to the clients entering their programs and is very intimidating

they rely on conventional treatment and recovery therapies that are now out-of-date and fail 80% of the time and don’t offer targeted meth addiction treatment programs to facilitate their specific needs

most of them do not provide their clients with the necessary tools needed for a successful recovery such as comprehensive educational materials and classes or courses for them to participate in while going through the treatment and recovery stages

they do not look at the behavioral or psychological disorders behind their addiction

they neglect to address the emotional and psychological levels of the addiction and only focus on the physical ones

We know that education plays a significant role when the client is going through meth addiction treatment and recovery, so we teach them certain things that will be instrumental in their total recovery. This education is what enables them to be stronger individuals when they return to society so that they remain substance-free for the rest of their lives.

We can help you with your addictions

Whether you are searching for a meth addiction treatment program or one that addresses a different substance addiction, we are here to help you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Please contact us at the toll-free number above you need further assistance or have any questions.

Narconon drug rehab and good law enforcement can help stop drug related crime in the state of Michigan.
Drug related crime is costing society billions and has especially hit the state of Michigan in addition to the continued economic problems throughout the state. And, crimes that are related to drugs that are taking place aren’t necessarily always violent crimes but their cost to and destruction of society is evident. Effective law enforcement is one real solution to decrease the problem; the other is effective drug rehab programs to stop substance abuse and free substance abusers from the vicious cycle.

“The crime rate in the State of Michigan has increased by those under the influence of some sort of drug. It’s not just the drugs that we are so used to hearing about like marijuana, cocaine, heroin, but it’s the other ones too. For instance, prescription drugs, or “huffing” of house hold cleaners, it can be any substance that is used by an individual” says Megan Werner Brennan, Public Contact Supervisor of Narconon Freedom Center, a non-profit drug rehab program located in Albion, Michigan.

“These crimes are happening right in front of us. Thankfully to many on the police departments and other civilians, they are trying to stop this cycle. The state is enforcing more laws and also putting down more serious consequences than ever before for these crimes that are being committed that are drug influenced” adds Brennan.
Narconon Freedom Center is also contributing to help decrease drug related crime in the state through their long-term inpatient drug rehab program. The Narconon program works with their clients to help them overcome the past and shows them how to make better decisions in their lives. Narconon’s program also includes technology set up to help clients to make decisions that will no longer include doing anything illegal. The Narconon program in Michigan has been saving lives for nearly eight years in the state and has had several hundred graduates from their treatment facility.

If you or someone you know is in need of an effective drug rehab program contact Narconon Freedom Center at 1-888-218-9478 or at our website www.freedomdrugrehab.com

Oxy Contin abuse has increased 31% in the State of Michigan, according to the Drug Enforcement Agency of the state. This is one of the highest selling prescription drugs that are available to those looking for their high and many who take this medication long term will not admit their addiction to it because it was prescribed. As a result we find those addicted to the drug committing crimes such as break-ins, forged prescriptions, stealing from friends, and also doctor shopping. It has gotten so bad that many people will see multiple doctors for the same diagnoses and collect the prescriptions.

“More and more doctors and pharmacies are jumping on board with the DEA of Michigan to help stop this cycle that has been created” says Megan Werner Brennan, Public Contact Supervisor of Narconon Freedom Center, a non-profit drug rehab located in Albion, Michigan. “One of the hardest issues that we face with putting an end to the prescription drug abuse is that these pills are that are being shared or sold. Addicts travel to nearby towns, find multiple doctors, and gather prescriptions, and then have them filled at different pharmacies.”

To help handle this, the State of Michigan has created MAPS (Michigan Automated Prescription System which can monitor the use of prescriptions of Schedule II to V drugs that are administered from 3,000 pharmacies. Through this, they are able to flag suspicious refills and requests. With Oxy Contin being a Schedule II Drug, this is monitored now closer than ever before. “This is a great addition to the state’s fight on drug abuse. This system is such a benefit to so many across the state and also helps protect those who really do need the prescription” says Brennan.

The other solution is an effective drug rehab program as offered through Narconon Freedom Center. The Narconon Freedom Center drug rehab program specializes in Oxy Contin abuse and achieves an over 70% success rate for permanent sobriety.

“We still have a fight on us to stop the abuse, but with drug rehabilitation that works and the government taking action on forged and illegal prescriptions this is a good starts,” adds Brennan.

Narconon drug rehab programs have continued to see increases in prescription drug addiction throughout the state.

Drug use is steadily increasing in the state of Michigan. One of the biggest increases of use is prescription drugs amongst teens and young adults. In fact according to The Office of the National Drug Control Policy, more young people ages 12-17 abuse prescription drugs than any illicit drug except marijuana—more than cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine combined.

Megan Werner Brennan, Public Contact Supervisor of Narconon Freedom Center, a non-profit drug rehab program, says “We are being asked more and more each day about the increase of prescription drug abuse. It’s the same as being addicted to any other drug and comes along with the same consequences. In Michigan, this has grown to be a devastating problem. Not only does this affect adults, but unfortunately this is also affecting teens that have access to these medications through their parents’ medicine cabinets.”

“This begins a cycle of abuse,” she adds.

The state of Michigan ranks at the top of prescription drug abuse amongst teens and young adults. Teens often feel that if it is a prescription drug, it’s safer for them to get high off of. Unfortunately, they do not know the true consequences of taking these drugs.

Over the past few years in the State of Michigan, the use of illicit drugs has dropped 23% amongst teens.

“Parents a lot of times miss this,” says Brennan, “but the only way that we can stop this cycle is to educate ourselves, our children, and our community.”

An overview of painkiller addiction

One of the first things that you need to be aware of is the difference between painkiller addiction and painkiller dependence. Although they are erroneously used interchangeably, there is a significant difference between them. Painkiller dependence is the body’s physical response to taking the medication whereas painkiller addiction is the psychological response so you shouldn’t confuse the two. You should also be aware of the fact that one can ultimately lead to the other.

The more you depend on the relief that painkillers provide, the greater the likelihood that a tolerance will build up and you will need to ingest increasingly larger dosages of these. Usually, prescriptions for painkillers occur in order to manage your pain and relieve your discomfort. Most painkillers with addictive tendencies are opiate-based and include certain medications such as:

OxyContin

Percocet

Vicodin

These are the most addictive of the bunch and contain hydrocodone which is a synthetically manufactured, opioid which is derived from codeine and thebaine, two naturally occurring opiates. Hydrocodone is taken orally in most cases and is a combination of a cough suppressant (antitussive) and narcotic analgesic (painkiller). You can find these in capsule, syrup, or tablet form.

Our painkiller addiction treatment programs

According to the DEA, painkiller addiction is a major drug threat in the majority of the 50 states in the US. As a result of the increase in prescription drug abuse and addiction, a need for more painkiller addiction treatment and recovery programs has arisen. Many state addiction treatment and recovery centers today offer these types of programs. Unfortunately, most of these programs fail and their clients return to society and eventually relapse into the addiction again.

Conversely, the Narconon Freedom Center offers painkiller addiction treatment programs that have a 70% or higher success rate where their clients are concerned. We don’t rely on the conventional treatment methods and therapies that the majority of the traditional rehab facilities do. Instead, we employ alternative treatment methods and innovative therapies that target the specific needs of the individual in order to assist them in being successful in their endeavors.

We provide our clients with comprehensive educational materials and other recovery tools that enable them to complete our painkiller addiction treatment and recovery programs so that when they return to society they remain substance-free for life. Additionally, there are several classes/courses that clients participate in to accomplish this while they are going through one of our residential addiction treatment and recovery programs.

If you or someone you know needs help with painkiller addiction, the Narconon Freedom Center is here to help you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our caring and experienced staff members are here to answer any of your questions. Please feel free to contact us at the toll-free number above for more information.

What is Suboxone?

Suboxone contains the chemicals buprenorphine and naloxone and is typically administered to treat opiate addictions in much the same way that methadone is used to treat heroin addictions. Despite the good intentions behind its prescribed uses, it is still addictive when abused with sufficient regularity and overdoses of Suboxone have resulted in numerous deaths in the past.

This is especially true whenever it is injected with other tranquilizers as it causes increased drowsiness when taken with alcohol, antidepressants, antihistamines, painkillers, and sedatives that induce sleep. Additionally, Suboxone can cause substance dependency which is the primary reason behind a handful of addiction treatment and recovery centers creating Suboxone addiction treatment programs.

Unfortunately, most of these facilities do not have the knowledge or technology required to assist individuals with their Suboxone addictions. There are a number of reasons for this but the primary one is the fact that the majority of the traditional addiction treatment and recovery facilities rely on conventional “one-size-fits-all” modalities and therapies. These just do not work because the majority of them have been shadowed by alternative methods that are far more innovative than the conventional ones.

Narconon Freedom Center treats Suboxone addiction

The Narconon Freedom Center has been treating all types of substance addictions for many years and has the highest success rate of any Suboxone addiction treatment and recovery center in the US (70% or more). Additionally, most of the traditional facilities fail to treat the behavioral or psychological issues behind the addiction and only address the physical levels of the addiction while ignoring the emotional and mental ones.

Past research has proven that one of the keys to a successful Suboxone addiction treatment and recovery program is education and teaching the client certain things which ensure that once they return to society they will remain substance-free. We teach our clients how to:

avoid harmful situations in the future

confront and control any potentially harmful situations that occur

communicate more effectively with people in your surroundings

improve their decision-making and problem solving skills

overcome the tendency to live in the past

purge their bodies of the substance they were addicted to and all of the residues

restore their ethics, integrity, morals, and responsibility

use all of the education tools necessary to acquiring knowledge and retain it

We also offer classes and courses that clients participate in to enhance their Suboxone addiction treatment and recovery process.

Drug addiction in the US today

Substance addiction has grown into one of the most significant health problems in the US today. The numbers of cases that are substance-related and involve serious illnesses and/or injuries have reached the 40 million mark annually. According to the DEA’s report published in late 2009, these numbers are going to continue grow because the US is viewed as a “gold mine” for the numerous drug distributors and traffickers targeting the country.

The DEA sees the following as the major drug threats that are plaguing the US today:

cocaine both in crack and powder form

club drugs or MDMA’s (e.g. Ecstasy)

heroin

marijuana

methamphetamines

prescription medications

With substance abuse comes the threat of substance addiction. We are witnessing growing numbers of people who are checking into treatment and recovery facilities every day so the need for more effective rehab programs is growing with those numbers.

The need for private addiction treatment programs

The only logical course of action when an addicted individual realizes they have a problem is to check themselves into a private addiction treatment program. Unfortunately, when addiction has a firm grip on the individual, they are oftentimes incapable of thinking logically and rationally. Private programs for the treatment of and recovery from substance addiction are everywhere. However, the majority of these programs fail and their clients wind up relapsing back into their addictions nearly 80% of the time.

The failure of these private addiction treatment and recovery program stems from several reasons including:

the traditional facilities still look like clinics or hospitals which is very intimidating to those individuals entering them

they still rely on the out-of-date conventional treatment methods and therapies that just don’t work

no education is provided so that the individual does not relapse when they return to society

Sadly, many of these traditional facilities take a “one cure works for everyone” approach. No two individuals are alike and neither are the addictions that they are suffering with. The Narconon Freedom Center knows this and has developed private addiction treatment programs that can be customized to target the needs of the individual client.

How we can help

The Narconon Freedom Center offers the most successful private addiction treatment programs in the US today. With a success rate of 70% or higher, we are confident that our treatment and recovery programs can help you. Substance addiction operates around the clock and affects the addicted individual as well as the family and friends around them. Our caring and concerned staff members are here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help you with your situation and answer all your questions. If you need more information regarding our private addiction treatment please contact us today.

Why choose Holistic addiction treatment

In the simplest of reasons, Holistic addiction treatment programs came into being to fill a specific need for the substance addict. After many years of research that was conducted in order to find out why these traditional addiction treatment and recovery centers had an astounding failure rate of nearly 80% (4 out 5 clients eventually relapsed). The following is what our research has revealed:

traditional treatment and recovery centers still employ conventional treatment methods and out-of-date therapies

they do not address the consequences of the addiction at the emotional and psychological levels, only the physical ones

the psychology behind the individual’s addiction is not researched – depression is oftentimes the primary cause of the alcohol and substance addiction, or some other behavioral disorder

traditional addiction rehab centers still look like clinics or hospitals which is very intimidating to the clients entering them

Additionally, what most traditional facilities fail to realize is that some addicted individuals have very deep-rooted spiritual needs which the conventional methods and therapies fail to address. For these individuals, their addictions have caused them to stray from their spiritual paths and they are looking for a Holistic addiction treatment program in order to walk those paths again as they heal and recover from their addictions.

About the Narconon Freedom Center

Our treatment and recovery facility has the highest success rate in the US (70%+) because we have taken all of the above into consideration when designing and developing our treatment methods and recovery therapies. We offer Holistic addiction treatment programs for the client who needs their spiritual issues addressed as well as the emotional, mental, and physical levels of their addictions. Additionally, we do not rely on the conventional methods and therapies to assist our clients.

in-patient treatment

out-patient treatment

28-day residential treatment

lengthier residential stay (if warranted)

Where our residential programs are concerned, we provide our clients with a homelike environment, unlike the traditional facilities which still feature an intimidating clinic or hospital like appearance. So our clients are welcomed into a more comforting and relaxed atmosphere when entering a Holistic addiction treatment program here at the Narconon Freedom Center.

We are here to assist you 24/7/365

Substance addiction never sleeps. It affects individuals and their families around the clock. That is why the Narconon Freedom Center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help you with your situation. Please feel free to contact us at the toll-free phone number listed above if you have any questions about our Holistic addiction treatment program.
