What is Crack Cocaine

What is Crack CocaineThe chemical that is named cocaine hydrochloride is more commonly known as crack. When the cocaine is processed and the hydrochloride is removed from it, a process that is called “freebasing”, the drug is made more potent. Crack is the solid form of freebased cocaine. The name crack comes from the way that it snaps and cracks whenever it is smoked or heated. Crack Cocaine is a very potent form of cocaine, and is very dangerous.

Crack cocaine is easy for someone to get a hold of because it is an already prepared form of cocaine. Therefore, the user does not have to buy any equipment, or be exposed to the dangerous process of freebasing cocaine. Most of the time, crack cocaine is packaged in small vials or in plastic bags. It is usually sold in small quantities, which are between 300 and 500 mg, which is enough for two or three uses.

When cocaine became popular, in the 1970s, it was an expensive drug. Therefore, it was considered a status drug, and the people who used it were at the top of many social ladders. Once a cheaper or less expensive form of crack cocaine was introduced, it became the drug of choice for many different drug users. This occurs often in inner cities, or in disadvantaged parts of the world.

There are many reasons that crack cocaine might become very popular. It is convenient, easy to hide and conceal, available very widely, and does not cost very much. It is also smoked rather than snorted or injected, and this causes many people to use it who would not want to use a drug that has to be injected into the body, for fear of being a “junkie”. This leads to a form of crack cocaine that is highly popular among many different groups of people. Drug addiction to crack cocaine is difficult to recover, it is highly addictive with strong with strong craving and withdrawal symptoms.

It might be more popular than the conventional cocaine, but crack cocaine has just the same amount of negative side effects. There are effects on breathing and heart rates, and a decrease of organ function. There is a blockage of dopamine, which is the chemical messenger responsible for good feelings in your brain. Because of this, the buildup and release of the dopamine is what causes the high. It is also what causes the lows that come after the highs, because a person’s body is unable to manufacture the dopamine efficiently after crack cocaine has been introduced into the brain. This, in some, will cause a feeling of absolute sadness and depression, and it will make them want to search for more crack cocaine because they feel like this is the only way that they can be happy. A supervised detoxification program is recommended in withdrawal of cocaine.

Crack cocaine can lead to heart attacks, strokes, and convulsions. It also has detrimental effects on the brain, often causing psychosis. A person might become paranoid and delusional, and they might end up in a full blown paranoid psychotic state, in which they feel as though they are being followed, monitored, and watched. It might also cause them to hallucinate, and to feel things that aren’t there. The most common of these feelings is a feeling of snakes or insects under the skin. This is terrifying to people, and causes them much more harm in the long run. Drug addiction treatment is available for those suffereing from addiction to cocaine.
