Ketamine Drug Rehab
What is Ketamine and why is it used?
Originally developed by the Parke-Davis company in 1962 before they became a part of the Pfizer Company, the drug ketamine is primarily used in both human and veterinary medicine. It produces a dissociative effect which is fast-acting in nature and was originally developed to replace PCP in 1963. From a recreational use standpoint, ketamine is usually snorted or swallowed and is considered to be a powerfully addictive substance. Many addiction treatment and recovery centers today offer ketamine drug rehab programs.
Side effects of the drug
One of the first things you need to be aware of with ketamine is that it can greatly impair the senses, specifically balance, sense of time, and sight. However, it can also cause cardiovascular depression, nausea, and either depression or stimulation of the respiratory system. Although it is usually manufactured as an injectable liquid, when it is used as a recreational drug, it is typically evaporated so that it is in powder form and can be smoked or snorted.
As the drug is odorless and tasteless, it can easily be added to beverages without detection, hence being classified as a “date rape” drug. It oftentimes produces a dream-like state as well as hallucinations. Recreational users claim that they have felt anything from a floating feeling to feeling completely separated from one’s body. In more severe cases, people have experienced terrifying feelings like total sensory detachment which is relegated to a near-death experience.
The Narconon Freedom Center helps individuals addicted to ketamine
The Narconon Freedom Center is an addiction treatment and recovery center that offers ketamine drug rehab programs which can be customized to target the addicted individual’s specific needs. Granted, there are numerous drug rehab programs out there, but there are none that can boast a 70% (or more) success rate like our facility can. We offer alternative treatment methods as well as very innovative recovery therapies, and that is what separates our facility from all the traditional drug rehab centers in the US.
For many years now, we have been successfully treating alcohol and substance addiction. When a client leaves our addiction treatment and recovery center, there is a greater chance that the individual will remain substance-free for life instead of the possibility of relapsing. We designed and developed the Narconon Freedom Center to be a residential setting where clients can recover in an apartment like setting. In so doing, our facility provides a more comforting atmosphere and is far less intimidating than the traditional facilities.
We are available to help you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, whether you are suffering from ketamine addiction or any other type of dependency issues. If you need more information about our ketamine drug rehab programs here at the Narconon Freedom Center, please feel free to contact us at the toll-free telephone number listed at the top of this page.
