Percocet Drug Rehab
What is Percocet?
Although Percocet is a brand name, it is a highly prescribed medication comprised of acetaminophen and oxycodone. It is an extremely powerful narcotic that is taken to relieve short-term pain that can range from moderate to severely acute. Because it is considerably less addictive than morphine, it is widely abused and distributed on the black market. Its current popularity most likely stems from the fact that it can be acquired for less money than what you would pay on the street for other more powerful controlled substances such as cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamines.
It has become heavily and widely prescribed because it is effective at relieving pain and is less addictive than many other painkillers on the market. Therefore, it has become a commonly prescribed medication in the medical community. Unfortunately, this has also made it highly available where the illegal distribution and trafficking of prescription medications are concerned. This has necessitated the creation of Percocet drug rehab programs at our treatment and recovery facility.
How do we treat Percocet addiction?
Here at the Narconon Freedom Center, we treat Percocet addiction in similar fashion to other controlled substances since it does display addictive characteristics. We believe that education is a key step in the addiction treatment and recovery process as well as being the primary reasons that clients remain substance-free for life after leaving our programs. We are proud of our 70%+ success rate and are confident that our Percocet drug rehab programs will experience similar rates of success.
So what makes our Percocet drug rehab programs so successful? One of the keys to our success involves the three elements of our therapeutic training routines that we focus on during the recovery process after the individual has successfully withdrawn from their addiction. These three elements are:
- being capable of self-control with ourselves as well as our surroundings
- effectively communicating one’s problems and situations so as not to create any further discomfort or uncomfortable circumstances
- raising one’s ability to confront and control uncomfortable feelings and situations
Addictions typically occur as a result of the individual self-medicating themselves in order to ease emotional pain and escape uncomfortable situations. However, in most cases there is a deeper underlying issue where the addiction is concerned. In many instances, addiction to controlled substances stems from the individual suffering from depression or some other behavioral disorder. It is our contention that if you want to successfully treat the addiction, you have to discover the psychological issues behind it.
