Residential Drug Treatment Programs

Communication, Perception, and the residential drug treatment programs Center

The difference between a drug addicts perception and actual reality can often be skewed greatly due to their drug addiction or addiction to alcohol. There reality has been constructed in their mind during their times of intoxication. When they become sober they realize that their lives are not what it was when they were using. This often causes severe depression, confusion, and a feeling of helplessness. To eliminate these feelings, and reconstruct their fabricated perception of life, the drug addict again turns to their addiction. This is an extended, two-part course of our residential drug treatment programs designed to directly address this cycle.

Factors involved with drug addiction

As was mentioned in the prior section, behavioral disorders or psychological issues are what drug addiction typically stems from. However, and to more specific, we have found that there can be a variety of factors behind the individual’s addiction, such as:
  • availability of the substance
  • cost of the addiction (usually this is not a significant once the addiction has become severe enough as the addict will stop at nothing to get high)
  • perceived lack of possible negative consequences
  • social acceptability
  • Additionally, the individual’s brain is qualitatively altered because of the addiction. So it becomes necessary to not only treat the physical consequences of the addiction, but the emotional and mental attributes as well. Remember that drug addiction affects the individual on all three levels.

    70%+ success

Our residential drug treatment programs boasts a 70%+ success rate whereas the traditional treatment and recovery facilities have much lower success rates because they still rely on these conventional therapies that just don’t work. Granted, the individual may leave that facility clean and sober. However, since they do not teach the individual how to maintain their new lifestyle, they oftentimes relapse and become addicted to drugs again. Drug addiction is a powerful force and the traditional inpatient programs and therapies are not effective at treating the psychology behind the person’s addiction.

comparing our residential drug treatment programs to the other facilities

When a client enters our residential drug treatment programs, there are certain levels of supervision which are still necessary. However, they quickly discover that they have certain freedoms as well. Here are some critical factors to take into consideration when comparing our center to the other facilities out there:
    • Our facility provides the client with a residential environment in order to recover while undergoing treatment and recovery
    • We provide the client with recovery tools which enables them to have a successful rehabilitation process so that they maintain their new, healthier lifestyle and remain clean and sober for life
    • When clients leave our facility and return to their communities, they oftentimes become the contributing and productive individuals they once were before they became addicted to drugs

What residential drug treatment programs entails

Depending on where the individual is in the addiction process or how severe their addiction to drugs has become, it may require entering a residential drug treatment programs in order to get clean and sober as well as remain that way for life. What this entails is actually living in a residential type environment for an average of 28 days – longer if the addiction is much more severe and has transpired for many years. Unfortunately, most of the traditional treatment and recovery facilities still look like the standard hospital or clinic and really do nothing to afford their clients a more comfortable and relaxed setting.
