What is Roxicet and why is it prescribed?

Roxicet is the brand name assigned to one of the numerous narcotic (opioid) analgesics (pain medications) and is synthesized from thebaine, an opium derivative. Roxicet, like other medications in this category, is an acetaminophen and oxycodone combination which is primarily prescribed for the relief of moderate to severe pain. As with any other narcotic analgesic, Roxicet is a powerfully addictive opioid and dependencies on the drug can quickly develop. Unfortunately, Roxicet is used recreationally just like the other opioids in its class.

Although Roxicet is not as common as some of the other narcotic analgesics in this category, it has still created the need for Roxicet drug rehab programs at the majority of the addiction treatment and recovery facilities here in the US. Roxicet, like other oxycodone-based medications should be taken in moderation because of the addiction and dependency characteristics of the drug.

Roxicet side effects

Roxicet side effects are divided into two groups – those that are common or mild and those that are much more severe. The more common, less serious side effects include:

blurred vision

dry mouth

feelings of dizziness or drowsiness

headache

mild constipation, nausea, upset stomach, or vomiting

Conversely, there could be additional side effects that are more severe and require immediate medical attention. These include:

confusion

convulsions or seizures

fainting or feeling light-headed

clay-colored stools, dark urine, jaundice, loss of appetite, nausea, and stomach pain

shallow breathing

slow heartbeat

Again, if you are experiencing the more severe side effects listed here, whether you are taking Roxicet as prescribed or using it recreationally, you should seek medical attention immediately. Additionally, if you are suffering with a Roxicet dependency or addiction, you should consider contacting the Narconon Freedom Center for help.

We are always here to help you 24/7/365

For many years now, the Narconon Freedom Center has had the highest addiction recovery success rates in the US. Our Roxicet drug rehab programs are no exception and we can easily customize an addiction treatment and recovery program geared to your specific needs. A simple interview and evaluation will reveal the type of program necessary so that you can be treated and recover successfully.

What is Methaqualone and what is it used to treat?

One of the more common sedative-hypnotic type medications is Methaqualone. It is a depressant of the central nervous system and its effects are similar to that of barbiturates. Use of the drug peaked during the 1960’s and 1970’s as it was prescribed for treating insomnia. However, this was a time when recreational use of the drug was quite common as well.

The drugs were commonly referred to as Quaaludes or Sopors. The drug was originally synthesized in 1951 in India and was introduced to Europeans and the Japanese as a safe substitute for barbiturates. Today, it is widely prescribed in these areas and South Africa but not as much in the US. Despite this fact, Methaqualone addiction is still considered to be a considerable public health threat.

Side effects and the results of overdosing

Most importantly, a weekly regimen of 300 to 600 mg daily can result in both physical and psychological dependency within a couple of weeks, so it should be considered as a powerfully addictive drug. Most of the addiction treatment and recovery facilities out there have Methaqualone drug rehab programs available. Those individuals who recreationally use Methaqualone will tell you that the easiest way to describe the effects of it is that it reminds them of a “boozeless drunk.” Here are some of the more common side effects:

aphrodisiac (increased sexual arousal)

drowsiness

euphoria

numbness of the fingers and toes (paresthesias)

reduced heart rate

reduced respiration

Larger doses can produce additional side effects such as headaches, respiratory depression, eye pain resulting from exposure to bright light (photophobia), and slurred speech. When it comes to overdosing on Methaqualone, some of the side effects you can expect are very serious and include:

coma

convulsions

delirium

hypertonia

hyperreflexia

renal insufficiency

vomiting

Most importantly, you can die from a Methaqualone overdose through either cardiac and/or respiratory arrest. It is similar to barbiturate poisoning except that motor difficulties are greatly increased.

Narconon Freedom Center

The Narconon Freedom Center has had one of the highest success rates in the US with their Methaqualone drug rehab programs as well as other addiction treatment and recovery programs. That success rate stems from the fact that we are very different from the traditional drug rehab centers out there. So what is it that separates our facility from the more traditional ones out there? The answer is the following 3 elements:

Appearance

Alternative treatment methods

Innovative therapies

If you need more information about our Methaqualone drug rehab programs or the other addictions that we treat at the Narconon Freedom Center, please feel free to contact us at the toll-free telephone number listed at the top of this page.

What is Valium and why to people take it?

Valium is the marketed brand name of Diazepam which is a derivative of benzodiazepine. It typically affects the brain’s chemicals that oftentimes become unbalanced and result in anxiety. As a result, it is typically prescribed to manage and treat anxiety disorders or tension, but it has a number of other applications including:

alcohol withdrawal

anxiety

benzodiazepine withdrawal

insomnia

muscle spasms

restless leg syndrome (RLS)

seizures

It is also administered in order to reduce the anxiety and tension that oftentimes arises whenever medical or surgical procedures are going to be performed. However, it also produces anterograde amnesia to reduce that anxiety and tension.

Unfortunately, Valium is a highly distributed and trafficked recreational drug. Dependency on Valium can result quickly and eventually lead to addiction. Diazepam is characterized by its potential abuse tendencies which lead to the dependency and/or addiction. As a result, numerous addiction treatment and recovery facilities are now offering their clients Valium drug rehab programs.

Side effects of taking Valium

The most common side effects experienced by individuals who are taking Valium as prescribed or for recreational use are:

drowsiness

lack of coordination

muscle weakness

tiredness

You should also be aware that there can be more severe side effects of taking Valium and immediate medical attention may be necessary. These side effects can include:

difficulty breathing

tightness in the chest

depression

mental or mood changes

persistent dizziness or lightheadedness

severe allergic reactions

slurred speech

swelling of the face, lips, mouth, or tongue

If you notice any of these you should consider seeking immediate medical attention and do not let the symptoms persist.

The Narconon Freedom Center is here to help

For many years now, the Narconon Freedom Center has been one of the most successful addiction treatment and recovery facilities in the US (70% or higher recovery success rates) and has Valium drug rehab programs that are no exception to that rule. Our staff members are knowledge about alcohol and substance addiction and can prescribe a program that targets your specific needs. All it takes is a simple interview and evaluation in order to arrive at the right addiction treatment and recovery program that will work for you so that when you return home to your community, you remain substance-free for life.

What is Rohypnol and what does it treat?

Rohypnol is the most marketed brand name of Flunitrazipam, a benzodiazepine-based medication that is produced by the pharmaceutical division of F. Hoffmann–La Roche Ltd or more commonly, Roche. It is characterized as being an amnesic, anticonvulsant, anxiolytic, hypnotic/sedative, and skeletal muscle relaxant, which are the five intrinsic characteristics of the benzodiazepine family of medications.

Ironically, Rohypnol is not legally available in the US despite being a Schedule III controlled substance. At the time that this content was written the DEA is recommending that the drug be reclassified as a Schedule I. Rohypnol is typically prescribed for the treatment of acute insomnia because of its hypnotic side effects. Additionally, it has oftentimes been referred to as a “date rape” drug because of its ability to induce anterograde amnesia which is the inability to create new memories once amnesia was caused by a certain event.

Rohypnol abuse and addiction

Although the US views Rohypnol as a date rape drug, there is a greater concern for its widespread use for recreational purposes in certain circles such as:

Attendees of “rave” parties

Cocaine and heroin users

High school and college students

So the drug has become extremely popular among younger age groups which make the use of Rohypnol a growing concern of the DEA and public health officials as well. The number of reported cases regarding serious illness and death by overdose related to the drug’s use is growing in numbers. Rohypnol is usually taken orally and oftentimes in conjunction with alcohol which intensifies the high or the desired effect of the drug.

Whether the drug is used for the long-term or the short-term, it can result in addiction and a physical as well as a psychological dependence on it. Long-term abuse of Rohypnol in increasingly larger doses makes the addictive characteristics and features of the drug much more pronounced. Not only does the prolonged use of the drug result in both physical and psychological, the sudden discontinued use of the drug results in withdrawal symptoms. As a result of the above, there are a number of addiction treatment and recovery centers that now offer Rohypnol drug rehab programs.

The Narconon Freedom Center is here to help you

Our addiction treatment and recovery center has the highest success rates in the US where total recovery from alcohol and drug addiction is concerned because we offer alternative Rohypnol drug rehab and innovative recovery therapies unlike traditional facilities. The Narconon Freedom Center offers individual homelike environments at our residential looking facility, which is less intimidating and more comforting the traditional addiction treatment and recovery centers which still look like clinics or hospitals.

What is Ritalin?

Ritalin is the Novartis trademarked name for Methylphenidate, a psychostimulant drug that is prescribed for treating certain disorders such as:

ADHD (Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)

Narcolepsy

POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome)

In addition to the above, Ritalin is oftentimes prescribed for the off-label use of certain treatment-resistant cases including:

Depression

Lethargy

neural insult

Obesity

OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder)

Finally, Ritalin is what is known as an instant-release “racemic” mixture although there is an array of formulations and generic brand names currently in existence on the market.

Ritalin’s adverse side effects

In recent years, clinical studies have revealed that Ritalin displays some adverse side effects, especially when chronic use or abuse of the drug has been documented. The most common Ritalin side effects are insomnia and nervousness. However, the following are all side effects that a Ritalin user (or abuser) may eventually experience:

abdominal pain

Alopecia (body or head hair loss)

Angina

appetite loss

Cardiac Arrhythmia

changes in blood pressure or pulse rate

Diaphoresis (excess sweating)

dizziness

drowsiness

Dyskinesia (movement disorder)

headaches

hypersensitivity

nausea

palpitations

pupil dilation

short-term weight loss

stunted growth

Tachycardia

Xerostomia (dry mouth)

Medical scientific research has recently discovered that there are other known or suspected health risks associated with taking Ritalin including decreases in height acceleration or what people refer to as stunted growth. The harsh reality is that the statistics revealed in the Ritalin studies were part of a larger and related medical research project regarding anti-depressants, anti-psychotics, or stimulants. Sadly, those statistics show that 1.5% of all children from 2 to 4 years of age were being exposed (prescribed) these types of drugs.

Is Ritalin addictive?

In February of 2009, research studies conducted on Ritalin and similar brand-trademarked names for methylphenidates may result in changes or damages to the brain that are similar in nature to what is experienced with cocaine abuse and addiction. Despite the fact that these research findings came from testing the drug on lab rats, there was a great deal of speculation that the results would be the same with humans and that the drug is potentially addictive as well as physiologically and psychologically damaging.

The Narconon Freedom Center is here to help you

Our addiction treatment and recovery center has Ritalin drug rehab programs that target the addicted individual’s specific treatment and recovery needs. You’ll be welcomed into a homelike environment that is less intimidating than the traditional addiction treatment and recovery center that still looks like a clinic or hospital. If you would like more information on our Ritalin drug rehab programs or if you have further questions, please contact us at the toll-free phone number listed at the top of the page.

What is Percodan and why is it prescribed?

Percodan is a brand name for one of numerous painkillers (analgesics) that are made from a combination of two-painkillers – oxycodone and aspirin. Oxycodone is classified in a family of drugs that are referred to as narcotic analgesics and is synthesized from thebaine, an opium derivative. Aspirin is considerably less potent than oxycodone but it is also an anti-inflammatory and helps reduce fevers. Additionally, many physicians today have put heart attack or heart disease patients on a daily regimen of aspirin.

Surprisingly, oxycodone is nothing new as it was developed in 1916 Germany as a semi-synthetic opioid along with several others in order to improve the current opiates and opioids specifically codeine, heroin, and morphine. Today, Percodan is most commonly prescribed for relieving pain that is moderate to severe in nature and is taken orally. It comes either as a compound medication (see above) or as the only ingredient in the drug.

Side effects to be aware of

As with any prescribed medication, Percodan is not free of side effects. The following is a list of the most common ones so that you are aware of them:

anxiety

constipation

Diaphoresis (excessive sweating)

dizziness

dry mouth

euphoria (an emotional or mental state of profound well-being)

fatigue

headache

lightheadedness

nausea

Pruritus (itchiness and the compelling desire to scratch)

Additionally, Percodan has been found to cause abdominal pain, appetite loss, dimness in vision, diarrhea, hiccups, and nervousness.

Percodan addiction and withdrawal

Percodan is a powerful narcotic painkiller and can cause dependency which indicates that an addiction is present. Because no two individuals are ever alike, each person’s body handles Percodan differently from the next person. It is powerfully habit forming and addictions to the drug frequently occur over the long term. Here are some of the ongoing warning signs to look for if you feel you or someone you know is addicted to Percodan:

accidental injury

blurry vision

constipation

cravings

dizziness and even frequent fainting

euphoria

mental and/or physical impairment

nausea

Chances are if you or someone you know has been experiencing any combination of these, a Percodan drug rehab may be the only solution.

We are here to help you

The Narconon Freedom Center can provide you with a Percodan drug rehab program that is customized to your individual needs so that you can be treated successfully and fully recover from your addiction. You’ll be welcomed in a homelike setting while undergoing the treatment and recovery stages during your stay at our facility. If you would like more information on our Percodan drug rehab programs or if you have further questions, please contact us at the toll-free phone number listed at the top of the page.

What is MDMA?

MDMA is the abbreviation for Methylenedioxymethamphetamine and is more commonly known as Ecstasy or the Love Drug. It falls into the DEA category of “club” drugs and although it is not considered to be highly addictive, it is abused for recreational purposes amongst younger circles that frequent the club scene and “raves”, hence the category nickname. It is classified as an “entactogenic” drug, a psychoactive drug that produces very distinctive emotional and social side effects as well as hallucinations.

MDMA’s or Ecstasy has other nicknames such as Adam, Hug, Kleenex, X, or X-TC. It is typically classified by virtue of the following characteristics and effects when taking it:

diminished anxiety and depression

inducing a euphoric state

a sense of intimacy with others

In the fields of cognitive therapy and psychology, it has oftentimes been suggested that MDMA’s have several therapeutic benefits and can facilitate therapy sessions with certain individuals. For instance, clinical trials have been conducted to in order to test its therapeutic potential for the anxiety experienced by terminal cancer patients or those individuals who are suffering from PTSD or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

MDMA or Ecstasy addiction

The frequent use (abuse) of MDMA’s usually results in increased tolerance to the drug which can occur very quickly. As a result, it takes increasingly higher doses of the drug to achieve the desired effect or acceptable “high” as the tolerance keeps building. Additionally, the more you use it the amphetamine effects take over and the intimacy euphoria becomes much less noticeable.

A sign that the recreational abuse or addiction to an MDMA is taking a person over is indicated when that individual is driven to obtain more of the drug and spends a considerable amount of time doing so. Another one of the primary “red flags” or warning signs that an addiction to MDMA’s exists is once the individual can no longer control the use of the drug. Once the desire to use an MDMA overtakes a person’s will to control or stop the use of it, an MDMA drug rehab program is the only solution to the problem.

About the Narconon Freedom Center

What is Lortab?

Lortab is simply another one of the trademarked names for one of the many hydrocodone based medications (or the compounds that contain hydrocodone) such as Anexsia, Norco, and Vicodin. These are some of the most commonly prescribed analgesics or painkillers on the market today. Consequently, they are also what the DEA considers (as of 2009) one of the 6 primary drug threat categories in the US specifically, illegally distributed and trafficked prescription medications.

Lortab addiction

Being a narcotic analgesic (or painkiller), Lortab has become a highly abused and popular drug that is trafficked on the streets illegally. It is a powerfully addictive drug and many treatment and recovery centers now offer Lortab drug rehab programs to help those individuals who are suffering with this addiction. Interestingly enough, some cases of Lortab addiction are not as obvious as others.

The warning signs are oftentimes difficult to distinguish from those of other problems such as behavior or mental disorders and inadequate control of pain. The following is a list of the more common signs of a Lortab addiction being present:

allergic reactions

breathing problems

constipation

decreased mental and physical capability

drowsiness

dry mouth

fluctuating moods

mental clouding

nausea

unusual fatigue

Additionally, the addicted individual may also consume alcohol with Lortabs as well as muscle relaxants and tranquilizers in order to intensify the resulting “high.” If any of this applies to you or you know someone who may have a Lortab addiction, you should consider a Lortab drug rehab to help with your situation or that of another individual you are concerned about.

About our Lortab drug rehab programs

The Narconon Freedom Center offers Lortab drug rehab programs that can be customized to the individual’s specific addiction treatment and recovery needs. A simple interview and evaluation will enable us to prescribe a program that will work for you so that you will recover totally and hopefully never relapse again. We’re a different addiction treatment and recovery facility in that we use alternative treatment methods and some very innovative therapies so that the process goes as smoothly as possible while in residency here.

Another key consideration is the way in which our addiction treatment and recovery center was designed and constructed. Unlike the traditional clinical or hospital looking facilities, the Narconon Freedom Center offers you the comforts of a homelike environment for all of our residency clients. Your stay will take place in an apartment-like setting so that you have a private place to relax or study the materials we give you.

If you would like more information on our Lortab drug rehab programs or if you have further questions, please contact us at the toll-free telephone number listed at the top of this page.

What is Fentanyl?

Also known as fentanil and other brand names such as Actiq, Duragesic, Durogesic, Fentora, Instanyl, and Sublimaze, Fentanyl is a strong agonist of the kappa and mu opiate receptors of the brain. It is considered a very potent narcotic painkiller or analgesic. It is most commonly prescribed for “breakthrough” pain and pre-surgical procedures. Additionally, it is considered to be 100 times more potent than what morphine is and is a powerfully addictive drug.

During the mid 1970’s, pharmaceutical fentanyl became a prescription medication that was being sold on the streets in illegal distribution circles. It is classified as a powerful narcotic and is one of the drugs that the DEA currently views as a primary drug threat in the US as far as illegally trafficked painkillers are concerned. Many health professionals also view fentanyl as a major public health threat because a significant overdose of the drug can be fatal in most cases.

Fentanyl dependency and addiction

Fentanyl has demonstrated a high potential for abuse and oftentimes leads to physical and/or psychological dependency and addiction. As a result, numerous addiction treatment and recovery centers now offer fentanyl drug rehab programs for dealing with addiction to and dependency on this drug. The tolerance to fentanyl can build up rapidly and the dependence on it or addiction to it is typically evidenced by the need to ingest more of the drug in order to achieve the desired effect.

The majority of the fentanyl drug rehab programs offered at traditional addiction treatment and recovery centers do not effectively treat fentanyl dependence or addiction. Typically, when the individual leaves their facility and returns home to their community, there is an 80% chance that they will relapse back into the addiction. This happens because the traditional addiction treatment and recovery center do not offer certain education and recovery tools so the individual remains substance-free once they return to society.

The Narconon Freedom Center is here for you

The Narconon Freedom Center is a very successful addiction treatment and recovery center that is not patterned after the traditional facilities and has one of the highest treatment and recovery success rates in the US (70% or higher). When you enter one of our residential fentanyl drug rehab programs, you are welcomed into a warm, residential atmosphere and spend your time in a homelike setting during the treatment and recovery stages. This is by far less intimidating than the clinical or hospital like environment of the traditional facility.

We treat you with non-medical detox whenever possible and help you recover with certain educational and recovery tools so that when you return home to your community, you will remain substance-free for life. If you would like more information on our fentanyl drug rehab programs or if you have further questions, please contact us at the toll-free phone number listed at the top of the page.

What is Dilaudid?

Dilaudid is one of several brand names for the drug hydromorphone (generic) and is a very potent analgesic that is centrally-acting and is a member of the opioid family. It is a morphine derivative and therefore what is referred to as a semi-synthetic drug. It is an opioid analgesic in medical terms as well as a narcotic in legal terms. It is known worldwide by several different names. However, you are cautioned to the fact that there are a number of inconsistencies in these brand names from one country to the next.

Dilaudid is primarily prescribed as an alternative medication to heroin and morphine as an analgesic or painkiller and as a narcotic antitussive (cough remedy). Generally, Dilaudid is considered to be the strongest and most effective antitussive on the market. As a result, it has become a popular illegally trafficked prescription drug and Dilaudid abuse and addiction is becoming more common every day. As a result of this, there are numerous addiction treatment and recovery centers that now offer Dilaudid drug rehab programs.

Adverse side effects of Dilaudid

The major hazards involved with abusing Dilaudid include circulatory and respiratory depression. However, the more common side effects include:

constipation

dizziness

euphoria

lightheadedness

nausea and vomiting

sedation

sweating

It is the euphoria that results from taking Dilaudid that has led to growing abuse and addiction in the US. Although massive overdoses of the drug are rarely documented with individuals who are opioid-tolerant, if one occurs it can result in the collapsing of the circulatory system and be terminal as a result.

Even when the abuse of Dilaudid is short-term, it can result in brief yet very intense withdrawal symptoms when its use is suddenly discontinued. The sudden discontinuation of Dilaudid exhibits more severe withdrawal symptoms similar to what is evidenced when morphine use is stopped. Typically, the first 14 to 21 hours are the toughest but the withdrawal process can last as long as three days and be very intense throughout depending on the extent of the abuse and addiction.

We have Dilaudid drug rehab programs that work

The Narconon Freedom Center offers numerous addiction treatment and recovery programs for a wide array of substances (alcohol included). Our Dilaudid drug rehab programs are now being viewed as some of the most successful programs in the US compared to other traditional addiction treatment and recovery facilities that rely on a common conventional, one-size-fits-all approach to any addiction.

Additionally, when you enter a Dilaudid drug rehab program here at the Narconon Freedom Center, you will be welcomed into a comforting homelike environment which is far less intimidating than the traditional clinical and hospital looking facilities. If you would like more information on our Dilaudid drug rehab programs or if you have further questions, please contact us at the toll-free phone number listed at the top of the page.
