Drug Rehab Doesn’t Happen Overnight

When someone is heavily addicted to drugs there is no short-term solution. Although 28 day programs are convenient for insurance companies, they don’t necessarily produce permanent recovery from addiction.

Narconon Freedom Center, a non-profit drug rehabilitation organization, deals with the many aspects of drug addiction and stresses the true goal of permanent recovery from drug or alcohol addiction.

Often Narconon sees students enrolling who have been to other drug rehab programs only to revert again shortly thereafter.  The fortunate part is they arrive at Narconon with a chance to recover permanently from drug addiction.

The Narconon program is divided into 8 major parts. Each step builds on the last one.  Step 2, or book 2 of the program as they refer to it, is a unique program called the New Life Detoxification program. In this program, after receiving medical ok, the student takes specific nutritional supplements that assist detoxification, exercises to increase circulation and spends time in a sauna each day to sweat out toxins. The results are remarkable.  Students report clearer thinking and elimination of drug cravings.  The point of the program being to remove the physical drug toxins from the body which addresses the physical aspect of addiction resulting in an overall improved sense of well being.

One Narconon Freedom Center student reports, “I went through book one and felt more relaxed and comfortable with myself and my environment. Then I went through the sauna portion of the program and I sweat out all of those toxins and drug residues that were crippling my body and by god if I didn’t feel like a teenager again. I could think more clearly and most miraculously I was free of my drug cravings, which up to the sauna program had been haunting me like a poltergeist with abandonment issues.”

The Narconon program continues with gains in this fashion through the remaining books. Each book gives the student new skills that he or she will need to be successful in life. Part of overcoming addiction is having solutions to the life problems the student encounters. The Narconon program gives the student these solutions.

They even address issues as basic as learning how to study. Book 3 on the program teaches the student the barriers to learning and how to learn any subject they choose. This skill is invaluable for the former addicts success in life.

The entire Narconon program can be completed in as little as 3 to 4 months. Although this is longer than the popular 28 day program students commonly recycle through, the result with the Narconon program of permanent recovery from addiction is possible.
