Narconon Delivers Effective Drug Education During The Holidays

In recognition of the upcoming holidays, Narconon Freedom Center reaches out to local school through drug prevention lecture.

This past week on November 24th, 2009 Bobby Wiggins, the world renowned drug education expert, spoke on behalf of Narconon Freedom Center as a special guest at an elementary school near Marshall, Michigan.

Wiggins, who has worked in the Narconon network for 31 years, spoke with elementary and middle school kids on how drug use can have long-term effects on the body that can cause an individual to not be able to stop using drugs and suffer many negative consequences as a result of substance abuse issues.

Mr. Wiggins has delivered live drug education presentations with 920,000 kids nation-wide and was also featured in an audio visual curriculum that is used in 9,000 schools in the United States. Through the audio visual program Wiggins has been able to educate another 11 million kids.

“One of the key things the students learned was the fact that peer pressure is what starts people on drugs,” says Megan Werner Brennan, Dissemination Supervisor at Narconon Freedom Center. “With real life examples throughout his talk, Bobby impressed upon the students the importance of choosing their friends and activities.”

The students couldn’t wait to ask more questions and wanted him to stay longer,” she adds, “and the teachers were also very impressed with the presentation.”

During the holidays, drug addiction can soar. Some drug rehabilitation programs only address the individual after he or she has fallen into the trap of drug addiction.  This is why Narconon Freedom Center, sponsors drug education lectures in schools and the local community throughout the state of Michigan.

Narconon also operates a long-term drug  is working to put an end to drug addiction through drug education as well as successful drug rehab for those fallen into the trap of addiction enabling them to lead happy, productive, drug-free lives.  One of the primary means to overcome drug addiction is addressing the matter before the individual is hooked.  This is done through effective drug education as Bobby Wiggins exemplified in his talk to the school.
