Narconon Freedom Center Teaches Addicts To Take Care Of Themselves

The Narconon program in Michigan has as a very important part of its program delivered to addicts called the Way to Happiness. This book is a non-religious moral code for the 21st century and gives students of the Narconon program an actual road to follow to stay clean and live successfully.

There are certain points in life that one must follow to be successful and happy.  Narconon has found that violating these points’ results in a lot of despair and unhappiness for many clients that enroll in their program. Drug addicts, no matter the profession or background, became so by violating one or more of the points in the book The Way to Happiness. For this reason it has been included as an essential part of the Narconon program.

The Way to Happiness was authored by American humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard.  In seeing the moral decay of society, he authored the first non-religious completely unbiased moral code based on common sense.  The book became fantastically successful, being translated into more than 90 languages with more than 70 million copies distributed and broadly used by governments, community groups, schools in numerous countries and has been recognized and commended in the U.S. by 2 Presidents, Members of Congress, state Senators and Governors.

One goes off the rails in life not usually in a sudden crash. Prior to any crash, there were small moral points one violated that led up to the seemingly unexpected downfall.  In the Way to Happiness the first precept or moral principle is,”Take Care of Yourself”. This may seem quite obvious, however, when one looks around we commonly find people violating this principle.

How often to we see someone who hasn’t slept or eaten well and we then experience the grouchy mood that follows?  Or when someone is ill we often see them coming to work or in public places, quite unintentionally, spreading their illness to others..

Narconon students learn this precept as part of the full study of the book the Way to Happiness. Additionally, there is a new film just released which not only covers the full text of the book, but delineates in movie form each precept greatly increasing duplication and making the precepts more real to the students.

Taking care of yourself may seem like a small thing, but one cannot truly live a happy life when one is personally neglecting one’s own body and person. This is just the first of 21 precepts discussed in the book.  Each precept is not only given but also the full reason why that precept is important. The Narconon student then gains the full understanding behind the principle.

Once one truly understands why such an idea is important they are far more likely to keep it in in their own life. Drug addicts often failed to take care of themselves during addiction as well as with the circumstances leading up to addiction. There are many reasons for addiction and the Narconon program covers all possible angles to enable students to live successful, happy, drug-free lives.
